NAUMA PAIN BALM
Methyl salicylate is a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory, local analgesic agent. It is applied externally to relieve pain. It is absorbed through the skin and acts by the inhibition of the enzymatic production of prostaglandins which participate in the pathogenesis of inflammation and pain.
The volatile oils, menthol and camphor when applied to intact skin have a counter-irritant effect, causing a sensation of warmth, which is followed by a mild local analgesic and anaesthetic effect.
Nauma pain balm is indicated for quick relief of pain in lumbago, rheumatic conditions, fibrositis, muscular pains including backache and in sprains
Dosage and administration
Nauma pain balm is to be applied sparingly and with gentle massaging to the affected areas two to three times a day.
Contraindications, side effects and precautions
Nauma pain balm should not be used on broken skin. Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas of the skin. Discontinue if excessive irritation occurs.
